Thank you so much for all of the prayers that you guys sent our way today for Hudson's appointments.
We started the morning off early in Radiology. It was nice to leave the house and feel the cool, crisp, Fall air. It didn't last long today, but it was nice this morning. We have been talking to Hudson for awhile about this appointment. He did alright with the ultrasound last year, but we wanted to make sure he was prepared and didn't feel uncomfortable. On the way to the hospital he told me that he was "a little nervous". I was SO glad to see our favorite ultrasound tech come out to get us. She's great with Hudson.
He did great with his ultrasound. I remember the days of Dave and I having to hold him down while he screamed the whole time. Thank goodness he is older and can understand what they are doing now. He even needed a bigger wand this time since he's grown so much.
Next we were off to meet with Dr. Donohoe. Here he is getting his height/weight/BP/vitals check.
A little bit of waiting in the examination room for Doc. Hudson was really excited about seeing Donohoe. He's such a wonderful doctor who is awesome with kids.
Grans came by to say hello and check on us while we were waiting. We love Grans.
Doctor Donohoe was very pleased with the way his kidney looked. In fact, he was so pleased that he said there was no need for any other testing today. He said that the hydroneprosis has decreased significantly. This is great news and means that his kidney is not as swollen. He said that the kidney is growing well also. We don't have to go back for TWO years!!!! What an answered prayer! God is amazing. We were so happy to have that great report.
Yay! Happy boy.
We had a break in between appointments, so we met Rara and the girls for lunch. We had a good time, and the weather was nice out on the deck at Sconyers.
Our next appointment was at our pediatrician's office. I've been a little nervous about this one because I knew it was a big one with multiple shots. We talked about the shots in advance and began preparing him for them a while back. He's had several of his friends who have told him about them as well since they have already had their 4 yr. well check ups.
He passed his hearing and vision screening, and weighed in at 47 lbs and is 43 1/2 inches tall. He's in between the 95th and 100th percentile for height and weight.
His check up went well, and he told Dr. Nesbit that he "was not going to cry for his shots". I was hoping this was true, but didn't know.
This kid is a champ! He squeezed my hand really hard and didn't cry a bit! I was so proud of him.
It's been a long day of appointments. We are SO thankful to have a healthy and happy boy. He's such a blessing.
