Dollywood/TN trip and 21/52

Hudson, Mom, and I left as soon as I was finished with post planning to head up to the mountains in Tennessee to visit with our family who were there vacationing.  We spent two days at Dollywood and it was lots of fun.  Hudson enjoyed being with Ella, and had fun being at the park.  He liked riding the rides, but was not a fan of waiting in lines.  I'm SO glad we didn't book that Disney trip for this summer.  I think he will enjoy it SO much more next year.

These are all i phone photos.  I took my big camera, and didn't take one single picture. :(
Hudson and Ella just as we got inside the gate.  The flowers and grounds were beautiful.

Hudson talked about riding the "rollercoaster" for weeks prior to our trip.  Here he is on the third (orange) cart with Nana on the rollercoaster.  He loved it.  I tried to get a picture of the big smile on his face, but my phone was not fast enough.

He LOVED the little hot rod cars that he could drive.  He took me for a ride around the park.

He liked riding the train, and so did we.  It weaved its way up the mountain through the park.  It was such a peaceful, cool, and relaxing ride.  In fact, H fell asleep.  If you look closely in this picture you will see H's basketball.  They had carnival type games in one area of the park.  All Hudson cared about was winning a basketball.  As some of you know, this boy is serious about playing ball.  He carried the ball around for the next 6 hours that we were at the park.

Pictures had to be taken with this Southern Belle that they thought was a "princess".
We had a great trip, and I would love to go back up to Tennessee soon.  It was beautiful.

21/52...I love this week's photo of the week.  After a full day at Dollywood, what could be better than eating a candy bar at the club house at the lodge?
(even though it's a blurry pic, I still love that sweet little face)

We went swimming at a friend's house this weekend and here's Hudson jumping off the diving board.  He did this about 1,496 times.  This boy is fearless.  Needless to say, he took a great nap afterwards!

20/52...Mothers Day Pics for Nana

We decided that what my mom would love best on Mothers Day would be a photo session with her babies.  We called up my friend Laura (The Freckled Spot Photography), and this past week, we had their session.  Here are some of my faves.

Mothers Day and 19/52

I am so thankful today on Mothers Day for my amazing son.  The Lord blessed me beyond measure with Hudson.  What an incredible gift he is!
Happy Mothers Day to all of the moms, soon to be moms, and those hoping to be moms.

She never existed before.

The woman existed, but the mother, never.

A mother is something absolutely new."

19/52...
Two photos of the week this week...
My little boy in his big boy bed.  He is SO proud of it and LOVES it.  He's been in a toddler bed for awhile, and he was fine with that.  We had no idea that he would be so proud and love this bed as much as he does.  His room is in the process of transformation.  It's not done yet, but will be soon.
In true Hudson fashion, here is my little man playing "golf".  This child lives to play ball.  He really has a ball in his hand 24/7.  He even sleeps with one, or two, or however many we will let him get into bed with.

18/52
Those big, brown, sparkling eyes are so beautiful to me.  I snapped this week's photo of the week this morning as we were outside doing yard work.
Oh, and I have some great news...Remember Beth from my last post?  Well, she HAS A FAMILY!!!  Thanks so much for your prayers and for sharing her story.  It's the little things that have a BIG impact on these kids.

borrowed time

Please go to Adeye's blog and meet Beth.  She's a precious little 20 month old who lives in a crib across the ocean.  She was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.  She is living on borrowed time.  She needs life saving surgery that her country will not give her.  She is worthless to them.
Beth's ONLY hope right now is for a family to step up and bring her home so that she can have the life saving surgery that she needs and deserves.
Adeye says it best..."Beth is a child! Just like all others. She is a precious human being created in the image of a God who adores her. Beth's life has value and purpose...no matter how many days God grants her breath on this earth. Even this tiny little life--broken, wounded, imperfect, weak and frail--is for His glory!"
Please pray for Beth.  Pray that her family will find her and will be able to bring her home.  Help spread her story.  How can we look into those big brown eyes and tell her that she's not our problem?  Maybe you know someone who knows someone who knows someone that can help Beth.
Anyone who is interested in adopting Beth can contact Nina at nina.t@chiadopt.org.
