Happy 1/2 Birthday, Hudson!

Hudson is 6 months old today! Half a year has gone by! WOW! I'm already planning his first birthday party.
He's rolling over from stomach to back and from back to stomach, he's eating all of the stage 2 fruits and veggies, he chews on everything, grabs toys and puts them straight in his mouth, gets up on all fours, army man crawls, stands when you hold him up, walks in the round-a-bout exersaucer, is saying many new sounds, has really taken a recent liking to his Claire..he loves to grap her and pull her close to him, and puts his arms up when you reach out to pick him up.
He goes for his 6 mo well visit and shots on Monday. I'll post his stats after we see Dr. Nesbit. My guess is close to 18 lbs, and I have no clue how tall he is...I just know he's TALL. We'll be getting his pictures taken on Saturday, so stay tuned for a peek from the wonderful Haley Lamb soon! Until then, here are a few snapshots...

Snow! Really?

It really happened! We got SNOW! It has not snowed here in Augusta in forever. We got 8 1/2 inches on Friday. How exciting! I got out of work early, picked Hudson up, and headed home just as it started to snow. Hudson and I watched from inside as it accumulated. Dave even got off a little early.
When Dave got home, we bundled Hudson up, and ran out for some quick pictures. I was not feeling well at this point. I think that I had a case of food poisoning. It was no fun! I spent the evening locked up in my bedroom while Dave kept Hudson in the other part of the house. Mom came and picked Hudson up on Saturday morning and kept him for the day. Late that afternoon I started feeling better. Needless to say...I will NEVER eat at Zaxby's again! EVER!
So, for the "Great Snow of 2010", I was locked in the bedroom puking. Boo! At least we got a few pictures of Hudson in the snow. Dave took my camera out and took some pictures too. He took such good care of Hudson and me. We are so lucky to have such a good daddy.
Here's my favorite shot. I snapped this at Jennifer's house when I went to pick him up after work. It had just started snowing and he was so cute as he felt it on his face. I have such a happy baby.

Hudson-vs-Bumbo Seat

We have been so busy lately, and I know I've neglected the blog. Every weekend is filled with fun events to celebrate our friends' life changes. Birthday parties, wedding showers, weddings, and baby showers have allowed us reconnect with old friends. Yesterday was Emily's wedding shower and Melissa's 30th birthday party. It was so fun to catch up with everyone!

My little man continues to grow like a weed. He's sleeping 9-10 hours at night, and is talking more and more. He comes up with new "tricks" everyday. The other day, I sat him in his Bumbo seat so that I could unpack his bag and pack it for the next day. He was playing with a toy, and I noticed that the toy had quit making noise. I looked up just in time to see him climbing (or shall I say DIVING) out of the Bumbo seat WITH the tray on it. He had figured out how to get his leg up and work his way out. I put him in it again later that night to see if he would do it again, and he did. Guess he defeated the Bumbo chair. Looks like I won't be able to use it anymore to keep him in one place.
Each morning as I dry my hair, Hudson sits in his bouncy seat outside my bathroom door and we "talk". Well, this is what I saw one morning last week....

He sits straight up in the bouncy now, and refuses to lay back. Most of the time he leans all the way over to get his feet and chew on them. He's really close to sitting independently on a blanket, so I guess we will be putting up all of these seats soon.
The boy loves his juice, and has officially mastered his sippy cup. He likes doing it all by himself.

Aunt Lori sent Hudson an awesome package this week. He got his first pair of Reef's, his first swim suit, and his first St. Patty's Day outfit. We can't wait to wear all of it, but we are super excited about wearing the flip flops and swim suit. C'MON SUMMER!!!!!!!!!

Hudson and Claire got out one day over the week. Even though it was a little chilly, it didn't stop these little bears from enjoying being outside. Aren't they adorable?

Tomorrow is Dave's 32nd birthday. Since he's off on Mondays, he will be spending the day with Hudson. It's a special birthday for him because it's his first one as a Daddy. I wish I could spend the day with them. I must go to work, but at least I get to look forward to coming home to this....
