In The Spirit

Even though it's not even December, Hudson is getting into the Christmas spirit. He is at such an impressionable age this year, and is SO much fun. He's into the decorations, the Christmas movies, and the songs. We want to make sure that he knows the real meaning of Christmas. I'm so thankful for such great resources that help teach him all about the true Christmas story.
We pulled all the Christmas books off the bookshelf, and have been reading them.
This is his favorite one. He really likes all of the animals in it, and tells us all about how "Baby Jesus was born around all the animals."

He was so excited when I brought his little nativity out a few weeks ago. He loves playing with it, and tells us that Mary is Baby Jesus' mommy and Joseph is his daddy.

He was so excited about decorating his little tree in his room. He helped me decorate our big Georgia tree too.
We let him pick out his yearly ornament this year at the craft show, and of course he picked a baseball. He loves looking at all of his ornaments.

This Christmas is already so much fun. I love that Hudson is so excited and involved.

Here's a video of Huddy Buddy singing his blessing.

Thanksgiving and 27 months

We had a great Thanksgiving break this year. We went to visit my family in Alabama, and my aunt cooked a delicious meal. It was great to be with all of our family. (We missed you, Lee) I'm so glad we had the whole week off and were able to spend some time there instead of making our usual quick trip.

Ella and Hudson have so much fun together. He loves being with her and playing. They even fight like brother and sister.

We went to Bass Pro Shop where they have the Santa's Wonderland. It is so awesome with lots of fun stuff for the kids including free 5x7 photos with Santa (and a pretty background), and crafts for them to make.
Someone refused to smile.

He found what he wants for Christmas!

It was really warm the first few days we were there, and then it got really cold. These two are so silly, but had fun having slumber parties and watching movies at night.

Thanksgiving day with the little turkeys...

I'll give you three guesses as to who was NOT in the mood for pictures.....

...but luckily we were able to catch a smile.

My big boy is 27 months old. Didn't we JUST celebrate his 2nd birthday like last week? Here are some updates...

  • he can count to 13 by himself, and to 20 with a little help

  • he knows his colors

  • he is VERY inquizative and asks about everything you say, he sees, you do, etc

  • he carries on a conversation like a big kid

  • he does not like for his hands to be dirty, and MUST have a napkin while eating

  • he likes to sing his blessing before we eat

  • he LOVES the Georgia Bulldogs, (of course, who wouldn't?) and his friend Ila taught him the cheer "when I say Georgia, you say Bulldogs"...we do it all. day. long!!

  • for his birthday he got a plasma car, and he's really gotten into it in the past month or so. he rides it all over the house and requests to take it with us everywhere we go. Claire also has one, so they ride them daily on their walks around the neighborhood.

  • the boy loves his trucks, Tow Mater, and Lightning McQueen

  • he still loves playing ball and can even hit the ball without the tee

  • he also got a sleeping bag for his birthday and he will sleep in in anywhere. he takes his daily nap in it, and will tell you when he's ready to go "night night in my sleeping bag"

  • he's been enjoying looking at all the Christmas toy catalogs that have been coming in the mail. he will say "that's me" or "that's Hudson" when he sees little boys pictured in the catalogs playing with things that he likes

  • he weighs 34 lbs, and is a little under 3 ft tall

  • still wearing 2/3t clothing

I love this picture that my friend Laura (The Freckled Spot Photography) took of him. I think he looks so grown up.

Pilgrims and Indians

I have the sweetest Teacher's Aide ever. She is a wonderful person and is super creative and artistic. She loves doing fun stuff with the kids. She even makes cute stuff for Hudson. Look how cute my little pilgrim is. He's pretty cute as an indian too huh?

When he put his vest and headband on, he started dancing around like he knew some sort of tribal dance. It was too funny.

My students will be sporting their vests and headbands on Friday. They are going to be so cute.

How bout them DAWGS?!!!

What a great game on Saturday! We beat Auburn, and it was an important game. GO DAWGS!!! My friend Erin and I decided that we would get together and watch the game and have party foods since it was an afternoon game. It was lots of fun and we had some good food! Hudson was SO excited to see baby Aubrey. He has been talking about her for a month since we went to the dairy farm with her and big sister Ellie. He wanted to hold her and carry her around. It was so cute. The weather was nice, so the kids had fun being outside. Anna Beth and Mady are so good with the little kids.

Hudson loves going to Ila Jane's house. He had fun with Mr. Jarvis last night. The first thing he said when he woke up this morning was "Mr. Jar-biss is so strong."

The train table at church is a must stop for Hud on Sunday mornings. I think little boys are wired to love trains and train tables...Santa should take note. ;)

After church, we have to wait on the golf cart to take us to our car. Even though it was a beautiful morning, H really looks forward to riding on the big golf cart.

It's been a nice 3 day weekend. On Friday, Mom, Hudson, and I went to Christmas Made in the South. It was nice to get into the Christmas spirit a little. We found a few goodies, and H picked out his yearly ornament...a baseball with a santa hat...what else??? I cannot believe how close to the end of the year we are. One more week of school then we are out for the whole week of Thanksgiving. I can't wait!

Whew! Busy week!

This past week has been a whirl wind. Halloween was fun. We went trick or treating with great friends. Look at these adorable 2 year olds. Have you ever seen a more adorable Abby, Bobby Jones, dinosaur, Strawberry Shortcake, or butterfly? I think not! These toddlers had a blast and were so much fun to be with.

My little golfer had a good time. He was so cute and proud of himself pulling his clubs.

Taking a little break and riding with Claire.

Enjoying some candy with Ila and Ellie.

We had a busy week with things going on every night last week. We headed to Charleston over the weekend to visit with friends. It was great to hang out and shop with Jeanna....a much needed get away. Hudson even made a new friend. Rooney is Jeanna's dog, and he is such a good boy. Look how nice he poses! We are ready to start a new week, but thankfully this is a short one.
