Monthly Update and Spring pictures

Hudson,
You are another month older. This month has been fun because the weather has finally decided to warm up, and the days are getting longer. You spend most of your day outdoors.
Here are a few things that I want to remember about you from this month...
You are certainly not a morning person. You don't like waking up unless it's on your terms, but you are a great sleeper. You go to bed easily, and sleep like a champ all night. You will put yourself to bed or down for a nap if you are ready and we aren't quick enough. You love your lion and your frog hooded towels and insist on only using those two towels after bath time. You like to run out of the bathroom and around the house pretending to be the lion or the frog. You tell us "There's a lion (or frog) on the loose! You better take him back to the zoo (or pond)!" We have to scoop you up and pretend to take you back to the zoo or the pond.
You are a backseat driver, and I can only pray that you are as cautious when you are 16 as you are know about the way that we drive. You constantly tell us to slow down, watch out, and be careful. You spot traffic lights and stop signs a mile away and ensure that we know what color it is and what that color means.
If we ask you to do something or eat something that you are not interested in or don't want any part of, you always say "I'll do it (eat it) tomorrow." I wish it really did work like that. Ha!
You are funny about environmental print. You announce each store/restaurant we pass while driving in the car. You always name Chick-fil-A, Red Robbin, Target, McDonalds, Taco Bell, and Waffle House. You also announce when we pass Mrs. Jennifer's office building.
You have such a sweet side. Whenever I say "I love you.", you say "I love you more." I could just eat you up.
You are so smart and talk so well for your age. Mrs. Laura says you talk like a 10 year old. It's so amazing to hear the things that you come up with and see your little wheels turning when you are thinking about something.
How am I so blessed to be the luckiest mom in the world? I am so thankful that God chose you to be my sweet, smart, handsome, and precious boy.
Mrs. Laura took all of these awesome pictures of you this past weekend. I think you look sooooo grown up. You are truly a little boy and not a baby anymore.*Thanks so much to Laura Power with The Freckled Spot Photography for all of these awesome pictures.

Easter Party Fun and Photo(s) of the week

My friend Erin and I planned an Easter get together for the kids months ago. As Saturday got closer, it looked like we would be rained out. We were so happy that the rain held off and we actually had beautiful, perfect weather. The kids had so much fun and the adults did too. It's always wonderful to spend time with great friends and family.
There was some serious egg hunting...
How cute are these three? We dyed eggs with lots of toddlers with NO messes! I'd say that's quite an accomplishment. Erin made smocks for all the kiddos. We had a great lunch, and desserts too. I'm so glad that everyone had fun.

This week I have 3 photos of the week....

I just love this picture of H and C. They are so close and love each other like brother and sister. I'm very thankful that they have each other

This one is so sweet to me. H loves his "Jen-da-fer". He even says that she's his "other Mommy". I love how H and C have their little hands on her legs. This is the last week before baby sister will be born. EEEEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!!!
We tried to get all of them to look at the camera at the same time, but didn't have much luck. This was right before they took off to hunt eggs. "Uncle" Jarvis was reminding them of the true meaning of Easter.

Spring is here!

I love seeing these sights in my backyard. Dave and Hudson planted lots of flowers and plants this weekend. H had the most fun watering everything, and digging holes in the soil.

Even though it has felt more like summer for the past week, you won't hear any complaints here. We are SO excited to welcome warm weather. Thank goodness that we live in the south, and really don't have super cold Winters. Cold weather is too depressing. The flowers are in full bloom, and the pollen is out in full force. It's nearly impossible to be outside for more than 10 seconds without sneezing, coughing, and having watery eyes. The afternoon showers have helped with this, and we know it will be gone soon.

How grown does he look in these pictures?!?! You need to slow down, little boy!!!
We went to the St. Pattys day parade yesterday and boy was it HOT! We all had a blast though, and H enjoyed catching (and eating) lots of candy and green beads.

I can't stand the cuteness in this week's photo of the week. I chose this one because I love the flowers and GREEN leaves...and I think that he's the most handsome boy I've ever seen!

10/52

Hudson has been counting down for weeks our trip to Alabama. EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past month or so we have had to say how long we had until we left for "Alabamas" (yep, it's plural). "We're going to Alabamas in 3 weeks (2 weeks, next week, etc)". He couldn't wait to see Ella. They had so much fun together, and Ella had a fun birthday party. I know this picture is blurry, but it totally cracks me up. We were trying to get them both to smile, and you see what that little ham did. I love these two!!

rain, rain..go away

We've had some gloomy weather this week. I am so glad to see some sunshine today. I'm hoping that it's here to stay for awhile. This week also brought some sad news, and the weather seemed to match the mood. Several of my friends at work have had hospitalizations in their families, and one of my classmates from all the way back to elementary school passed away. His family and my family have been friends for years. Very sad.
On a lighter note, we kicked off Read Across America week at my school on Thursday, and celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday. I wish I could show you a picture of my cute little "cats in hats" in my classroom, but I'm not going to post them on my personal blog. Isn't this door SO cute? A coworker did it, and she did a great job!

This week's photo of the week is the loot that my friend and I made out with after shopping at our favorite consignment sale ever. Two large utility totes overflowing with great deals....my kind of shopping.
