2 and a half!

Hudson,
You are 2 1/2! For the past three months you have told people that you were "twoinahalfff" when they asked how old you were. Now it's finally true! WHOA! I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by.
You are becoming quite a comical young man. Many times you have us cracking up with the funny things you say. I know that every mama thinks her little one is smart, and I am no exception. I actually did an assessment on you that we do on some of the students at my school from time to time. I was curious how you would score with your language development. You scored (receptive and expressive language development skills) on the level of a 3 year old 10 months. You are making all kinds of connections and surprise us daily with the things you know. Earlier this week, I was off work for President's Day and then a furlough day. We were coming home from the park and we passed an elementary school close to our house. You said "Mommy, there's nobody at that school today like you're not at your school either. You can eat lunch with me today, Mommy!"
When things get quiet, there very well could be trouble on the horizon. The other day we found you with an ink pen drawing all over the screen of our lap top. Just last night you got a hold of a tube of vaseline chap stick. You used the whole tube on your hands and face.
No chapped lips or cheeks for this kid...
Here's the rest of the tube...empty tube..You are such a fun kid, and even though you are super duper strong willed and independent, you can be so sweet too. You love your tucks and trains, Barney, and Chuggington. You are still wearing mostly sized 2t clothes, but are in some 3t things, and I'm buying all 3t for Spring and Summer. You wear a 9 1/2-10 shoe. You are all boy, and love being outside. You would stay outside all day if we let you. You have already been asking to go to the "swimming pool", and I cannot wait until it's time for pool weather. You will keep us on our toes at the pool this year. That's for sure.
I'm so proud of the little boy you have turned into. You are such a bright spot in our lives. We are blessed to be able to call you our son.
Love you so much,
Mom

Valentines Day 2012

It was a calm, and relaxing Valentines Day at our house. Hudson opened his goodies when he woke up in the morning, and was excited about having his Valentines Day "party" with Claire and Nana. They went out to lunch with Ms. Jennifer and enjoyed being together. Hudson had a (much needed as you can see in this picture) hair cut appt. in the afternoon.

Can ya tell that we are ready for summer around here? Hud got swim trunks, crocs, and flip flops (his two favorite shoes of all time that he would wear 24 hours a day if you would let him). I got his crocs a little big in hopes that we could get through the whole summer with that pair, and he has been wearing them around the house since the moment he opened them.

My Valentine...

We ended the day at home with pizza. It was great to have everyone home early, and to just hang out.

look alikes

The other day, I was looking through some of my old pictures of when I was a baby and little girl, and oh my goodness they looked just like Hudson. He looked just like my baby pictures when he was born, but lately I have noticed him looking more and more like I did when I was little. Here's a comparison for ya...

This is me and Hudson with the same crooked smile...

Here are a few more of me...

...and more of Hud...

Here's me again...(on the right)

I think those last two look like this week's photo of the week. I love this picture of Claire and Hud that mom took on her phone this week.

First Dentist Visit

I cannot say enough good things about Southern Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. I called a few months ago to set up his first dentist visit, and from the first phone call, I felt so comfortable. The whole experience was fantastic. All of the staff at the office were phenomenal, welcoming, and great with small children. I have to admit that I was a little nervous not knowing how Hudson would react. Going to the doctor has been an ordeal each time since his surgery. We spent lots of time talking to him about this visit and explaining what was going to happen and that this wasn't the doctor. He has been excited about "going to the dentist to get my teeth counted" all week.
The waiting room was very inviting and had lots of fun things to see and do. He did pretty good, but didn't like laying back and getting the flouride on his teeth. Dr. Perry was really fast, and so friendly. It was great to have Kathleen work with Hudson today too.

He was so proud of his certificate...

......and has been walking around with his "back-pack" all evening.

Look at those pearly whites!!!

I'm so glad he had a good "first" dentist experience!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Dave had a great birthday! He was lucky enough to have an awesome party with Hudson, Claire, and Nana today during lunch. I missed it because I was at work, but I've heard how much fun it was! I took him out for dinner, and it was really nice. We came home and had yummy cupcakes.
Happy Birthday Daddy!!!!
We love you!

There's no doubt that this boy loves his Daddy.

When The Circus Comes to Town

We took Hudson to his first circus on Friday night. We got there a little early and enjoyed some of the pre-show activities on the floor as well as visited the animals backstage. I think that's as close as I've ever been to a camel. dancing...

Guess who was less than amused about some random chick holding him on a motorcycle....

Claire, Ella Kate, and Hudson dancing during intermission.

This week's photo of the week goes along with the circus theme. A few days before the shows the animals arrived and you could go and watch them do a few tricks. My mom and Jennifer took Claire and Hudson to watch them. I mean, it's not every day you see traffic stopped for elephants to cross.
