Haley Lamb pictures- 9 months

Here are a few of our most recent pictures by Haley.

A Visit With the Fish

On Sunday, we packed up and headed to the Atlanta Aquarium. Dave and I have been several times and really enjoy going so we were super excited to take Hudson. We met (almost) all of the family there too. Mom, Lynda, Lee, Chris, Holly, Ella, Jackie, and Grandaddy all made the trip. We were so glad to see our family from Alabama and for Hudson and Ella to spend some time together.
Can't you tell how excited she is to finally get to see her "Huddie"? Even though this picture looks as if he's less than thrilled, he really does love Ella and smiles when he looks at her. He loves being around bigger kids and wants to do what they are doing.

I love this picture of Dave and Ella in one of the crawl spaces.
We needed to take a break and get out of the stroller.

Hudson got LOTS of hugs and kisses from Ella.

Hudson with Daddy and a big Whale Shark.
I love both of their little faces in this picture.

More hugs!

A Day At the Pool

Just a fun Sunday at the pool. My boy LOVES being in the pool. I'm so glad because that's where we will be spending a lot of time this summer.

"Teachable Moments"

Being a teacher makes you look at everything different when you are a parent. Being a teacher of young children REALLY makes you think about everything you say and do around your child. It's my occupation to teach children to read, and of course I want to ensure that my own child is more than ready for school when the time comes. I am always encouraging language development by talking non stop to him and explaining everything even though he does not have a clue what I'm talking about most of the time. Books are a big deal in our house too. I look for "teachable moments" in everything we do. I've been in a class at ASU for the past two weeks where we have done nothing but talk about young children's development, and preparing them socially, mentally, emotionally, and academically for school. Today as I sat in class I got a text with the cutest picture from my mom. It made me think. Sometimes we are so busy thinking and planning what to do with our children that we don't even realize that the real "teachable moments" are ones that happen spontaneously and on a whim. Here's the picture of Claire and Hudson. They found a turtle on their walk today and mom put him in the bucket so they could look at him. What an amazing real life experience "teachable moment"! How exciting for the babies to see a real turtle crawling and climbing around! They were fascinated. I'm so glad that Hudson gets to stay with Mom and Claire everyday.

9 months!

I've had him as long as I was pregnant with him! WOW! These past nine months sure have gone by MUCH faster than the nine months I was preggo with him. This past month Hudson grew almost an inch in height, is talking ALL the time and saying new words and sounds daily, pulls up like a champ and "cruises" while holding on. He's fast! He's eating "real" food, and loves green beans, and strawberries. I try to let him eat what we are having for dinner each night but I'm still using baby food to supplement with the real food. He loves drinking his water from his sippy cup, and does it all by himself. He helps me with the spoon when I am feeding him. He loves Claire and it's adorable to see them interact. She even pushes him in the swing. She's walking all over the place. They are so precious, and I am so thankful that they get to grow up together.

School's finally out and I'm done with post-planning. I am in a class at ASU the remainder of this week and next. Today was the first day and surprisingly I enjoyed it. I will be glad when it's over and I get to spend all day everyday with Hudson. We go for his nine month well visit in a few weeks, so I will post his 9 months stats after the appointment. My prediction on weight is 22 lbs. We shall see.

Congrats Grads!

Congratulations to all of the 2010 graduates. Hudson enjoyed his first graduation party on Friday night. He had such a good time watching people dance, and hanging out on the river. Here he is with Anna. We love her family, and they have been close to our hearts ever since Dave and I started dating. We are so proud of Anna and excited to see where the future takes her. Hudson was too busy looking around to look at the camera, but it's a good picture of Anna.

Hudson also enjoyed meeting Mark. He's one of Anna's brothers.

The rest of the weekend has been pretty relaxing. It's been nice to not have a weekend full of plans. We had pictures with Haley Lamb on Saturday evening and I CAN'T WAIT to see them.

Hudson's been a little under the weather. He has a runny nose and is pretty congested at times. I think it's just a cold, but wonder if it's due to teething. It hasn't slowed him down. He spent Sunday afternoon outside in the pool. It was HOT outside so we greased him down in sunscreen and headed out. As you can see, he loved it. He slept so good after playing in the pool.
