Prayers for Baby RJ

I know that many of my readers are prayer warriors. I am asking you to please add baby RJ Freeling to your prayer list. His mom, Holly and I met in college. Holly was rushed into a c-section over this past weekend at 6 months pregnant with RJ when they found that she was preeclamptic and had HELLP syndrome. This is a rare condition that 2 out of every 1,000 pregnant women get.

RJ weighed 2lbs 8oz and was 14 1/2 inches long. He's on a feeding tube and respirator, and is having issues with his stomach. They are trying to figure out if it's bloating, gas, reactions to milk, or a premature digestive system. Other than those issues, he's doing pretty well and Holly says that his color is looking better every day. Please pray for his continued growth and development, and that the doctors can figure out what is going on with his stomach. Pray for Holly and her husband too.

Ever since Hudson was in the NICU, premature babies have held a special place in my heart. Hudson was not in the NICU due to being born premature, but we met other families that were, and those babies are fighters. It's amazing how they are so little and go through so much more than most adults can ever imagine. I can't wait to hear all the good news that is in store for the Freeling family! GROW RJ, GROW!!!
