20 months (tomorrow)

Hudson turns 20 months on the 25th, and Mommy turns 31. How did I get that old? How is my baby almost 2? Yikes! Times flying! You are such a little man, Hudson. You are a busy boy, and are all over the place. You never stop, or slow down. You run all the time. Your vocabulary continues to blossom. I can't even keep up with your new words/phrases anymore because you say everything and repeat anything we tell you to say. You have started saying "please" without being reminded. You said "I love you." this month for the first time out of the blue. It made me so happy. You still love to read books, and your favorite past time is still playing with any kind of ball. You are getting more into trucks and cars, you love watching Barney, and you are really into learning about animals.

You have started singing along with songs on the radio, and it is so stinkin cute. Something new that you have recently started to like is being covered up. You like to get the quilt off the back of the couch, cover yourself up, and lay on the couch with a pillow.

You are so very observant, and do not miss a thing. You tell us things that you see that we might have missed or didn't even notice.

One of your 2 year molars is in, and the others are not far behind. You are still a great eater, and will tell us when you are ready to eat, what you want to drink, what you want for snack, etc.

Strong willed is an understatement when describing you. You sure do get it honest though. Time out has been working pretty well. You will actually sit there and I feel pretty sure that you understand why you are there and that you are being punished.

It is so much fun to see you gaining more independence. You are aware of your surroundings more each day. I can't wait until school is out. Only 4 more weeks until we will get to spend every day together. You are going to be so much fun at the beach this summer! I love you precious boy!

Easter Activities

Since I was off for Good Friday, Hudson and I have been having lots of fun together. We started off the day with an ear re-check at his ped. office. Good news there...his ear infection from a few weeks ago was all cleared up. We headed to meet some friends after that, and had fun seeing some live baby bunnies, and tried to get some pictures with the Easter Bunny but none of the kiddos liked him.

Hudson, Ila, and Ellie headed to see the Easter Bunny. They were so eager to see him, but when they saw him, they wouldn't even get close. Oh well...maybe next year.

This afternoon we went to Old McDonalds Fish Camp for dinner. Hudson really enjoyed eating "puppies" (hushpuppies), and seeing all the animals.

We came home and braved the task of dying eggs with a 1 year old. He had fun, and no messes to speak of.

He got to eat his cute little cupcake from Nana.

He was SO proud of his eggs and super excited about them.

The finished product...

I am really glad that I'm feeling better this afternoon. I had to make a trip to Urgent Care this morning. I started having a ear ache and sore throat last night and had a fever. I was afraid that I had strep throat, but thank goodness I don't. I have an absessed ulcer on my throat and it's pretty painful. At least it's nothing contagious.

Tomorrow is Easter, and don't worry...we haven't forgotten the true meaning of the holiday. Please pray for Dave and I in the morning as we have nursery duty at church. I can handle 20+ five year olds all day but more than two 1 year olds makes my head spin a little. I'm excited to see all the adorableness and Easter outfits though.

Happy Easter!

These are some of Hudson's latest pictures from his 18 month session with Haley. Of course they are all fabulous, but I've posted some of my faves.

Masters Week part 2

Wednesday was the Par 3 tournament at the National. What better way to celebrate than going to a shag party with a good band? We enjoyed being with our friends, and Claire and Hudson had fun running around, playing ball, and dancing. These babies can shake their bootys!

We were happy to have Ava come and spend a few days with us. Hudson loves her, and she was great with him. I just can't believe how grown up she is. SHE should be the toddler running around, but instead she's finishing up the second grade!

There was time to relax and enjoy being with Claire. I had fun playing outside with them since I don't usually get to see them together during the day. They are truly two peas in a pod.
We were SO excited to go to Peachtree City to celebrate Peyton's first birthday. Her mommy and I have been friends since our freshman year in college. We lived on the same hall in the dorm and became really close. It was so fun to visit with Jane and her family, and Emily (Jane's twin sister) and her family too. Having all of our kids together was such a treat.

Hudson made a new friend at the party. This is Palmer, and he was adorable.

So, anyone who has kids knows how hard it is to get two 1 year olds to look at the camera at the same time AND smile. We didn't do such a good job. This is the best we got.

Kameron was so sweet to play with the little kids. Hudson loved blowing bubbles with her.

Boys will be boys! These two raided all the ice out of the drink buckets.

I miss these girls. I wish we lived closer!

As much as I hate to see Masters Week and Spring Break end, the countdown is now on for the end of the school year. Once we go back from break, the rest of the year is gone in a flash. Six more weeks...I think I can handle that. I am super excited about spending the summer with my little buddy. Can't wait to get that boy in the pool.
