Summer Shenanigans and 23/52

Another fun week of summer 2012 in the books!  We are making the most of every day.  Summer flies by WAY too fast, and I want to pack in as much fun as we can handle.  Mom and I took H to see Sesame Street Live while they were in town this week.  This trip wasn't planned but when we got free tickets last minute we couldn't pass. 

Last year when we took H to see Elmo, he liked it but lost interest very quickly.  This year he had a blast.  He sang and danced and enjoyed himself so much the whole entire time.  He even made a new friend. 

We had the last music class this past week too.  I'm so glad that I got to make it to the last class.  Work kept me from all of the other sessions, so I was very thankful to at least get to attend one with him.  They were so cute playing their little instruments and singing their cute little songs.

This week's weather has been SO nice.  We headed to the park one evening for a play date and picnic dinner.  The kids had such a good time and it was great to be outside enjoying the nice weather. 

We will be doing this again soon!

Lunch with Princess Claire.. these two are too funny.  Every little princess needs a prince to help her apply her lip stick.

We had another first this week.  Erin and I took Ila and Hudson to the movies.  This was H's first time.  We saw Madagascar 3, and he did great.  He even requested to go back.  Not sure what all of these "faces" are now in all of the new pictures.

23/52..This week's photos of the week were taken out at my great uncle's house at the barn.  I have always loved being out there ever since I was a little girl.  I love these pictures of my buddy.  I wish I had not forgotten my big camera, but iphone pictures are better than nothing. 

Also, while we celebrate summer, and do lots of fun things, I have been so sad about Lucy.  My last blog post was about her current situation, and her blog button is on the right side of my blog if you scroll down just a little.  Her mom, Kate has blogged a few times since then and she has blogged some specific prayer requests along with an update.  Please continue to remember their family in your prayers. 

quick favor

Can I ask a quick favor of you?  Would you please say a prayer for Lucy and her family?  I've blogged about Lucy here before and her courageous battle with cancer.  She's endured so much in her short little life.  She's fought.  She's been extremely brave.  Yesterday it was determined that her cancer has returned.  There's nothing that can be done.  She does not have much time.  Please pray for peace for her as well as her family.  Please pray for mercy and that she does not have to suffer.  Lucy has touched SO many lives, and her mom Kate is a fantastic example of courage and faithfulness.  You will see Lucy's blog button on the right side of my blog.  Please take a second and lift them up as they are going through the unimaginable.

I know that most little boys are hard wired to love sports.  This little boy lives and breathes sports.  We made an impromptu trip to play putt-putt last night after dinner because the weather was so nice.  You should have seen this guy's face when we pulled into the parking lot.  He was beyond excited!!  Hudson ALWAYS has a ball, bat, glove, or club in his hand.  We have to take them in the car with us, his bed has them in it, and he's always "playing" ball.  Before we could get out of the car, he decided that he wanted a green ball.  He got his ball, and on the very first hole, he hit a HOLE IN ONE!  We made a big deal about it, but I don't think that he really understood what it meant.  Oh well, he will soon enough. 

22/52..Hudson, (future Green Jacket wearer) and his first hole in one.  I'm sure the golf channel will be requesting this picture in about 25-30 years when he wins the Masters here on his home turf!  HA!!

Summer has officially begun..

..and we couldn't be any happier.  We are going to enjoy every second and try to squeeze in as much fun as possible. 

Here's Bonnie and Clyde being silly after swimming one day.  We stopped by McDonalds to grab a smoothie.

Hudson had his first limo ride.  We had a family birthday and we were lucky to get to enjoy a little fun in this "big car".  Hudson was so excited that he "didn't have to get into a car seat.".

He enjoyed helping himself and everyone else to the drinks and snacks.

 We've been hitting the pool.  This little boy is a fish who has no fear and his favorite thing is jumping in. 

We've also made a few trips to the splash pad.  

The water is really cold, but it's lots of fun!

We are so lucky to have this great little splash pad only a few miles from our house.

Dollywood/TN trip and 21/52

Hudson, Mom, and I left as soon as I was finished with post planning to head up to the mountains in Tennessee to visit with our family who were there vacationing.  We spent two days at Dollywood and it was lots of fun.  Hudson enjoyed being with Ella, and had fun being at the park.  He liked riding the rides, but was not a fan of waiting in lines.  I'm SO glad we didn't book that Disney trip for this summer.  I think he will enjoy it SO much more next year.

Hudson talked about riding the "rollercoaster" for weeks prior to our trip.  Here he is on the third (orange) cart with Nana on the rollercoaster.  He loved it.  I tried to get a picture of the big smile on his face, but my phone was not fast enough.

He LOVED the little hot rod cars that he could drive.  He took me for a ride around the park.

He liked riding the train, and so did we.  It weaved its way up the mountain through the park.  It was such a peaceful, cool, and relaxing ride.  In fact, H fell asleep.  If you look closely in this picture you will see H's basketball.  They had carnival type games in one area of the park.  All Hudson cared about was winning a basketball.  As some of you know, this boy is serious about playing ball.  He carried the ball around for the next 6 hours that we were at the park. 

Pictures had to be taken with this Southern Belle that they thought was a "princess".

We had a great trip, and I would love to go back up to Tennessee soon.  It was beautiful. 

21/52...I love this week's photo of the week.  After a full day at Dollywood, what could be better than eating a candy bar at the club house at the lodge?

We went swimming at a friend's house this weekend and here's Hudson jumping off the diving board.  He did this about 1,496 times.  This boy is fearless.  Needless to say, he took a great nap afterwards!

We decided that what my mom would love best on Mothers Day would be a photo session with her babies.  We called up my friend Laura (The Freckled Spot Photography), and this past week, we had their session.  Here are some of my faves.
