4/52

Just like most kids, Hudson loves playing outside. He's all boy, and NEVER stops running, jumping, playing, etc. I love this picture of him jumping from rock to rock. He has no fear, but I love that he so freely explores his little world. Again, this is a cell phone picture.

Big Decision

What's this you say?
That's the paper work and registration forms for this little guy.....
...to be signed up for.......

AHHHHHHH!!!! Oh my goodness! It has taken lots of time, discussion, and investigating for us to make the decision to send Hud to preschool next year. He will be going two mornings a week, and we are now excited. He's excited. I'm not sure that he really knows what is in store, but I know he will have fun. We feel very blessed that my mom is able to keep him, and that she has taught him so much and has provided him with so many fun and educational experiences. He will still be with her for the rest of the week.

There are lots of good preschools in our area, so we checked into many different ones, and finally made the decision of which one would be best for Hud. I was very unsure and uncertain until we visited a particular one. I felt like the decision was made for us. I've been a nervous wreck for the past few days worrying about him getting a spot, but thankfully he DID get one this morning. WHEW! We are thrilled that Claire will be with him too.

In other news, this boy is 29 months today. In just one short month, he'll officially be 2 and a half. Here's what happens when I try to do a monthly photo shoot...

I DID get some good ones, but most of them looked like the ones above. HA! I love that little man.

broken hearted x2

For the past year or so I have been following two stories of precious little boys on their Mommy's blogs. I have even blogged here about them and asked for prayers for each of them. Each one of these little boys grabbed my heart and instantly made me fall in love with their sweet smiles. Perhaps it was because they were both born within months of my Hudson and I could relate so much to the ages/stages that they were in, or perhaps it's because of the way their Mommy's told their stories.
There was something different about these two little boys. You see, both of them were fighting for their lives. one had cancer, and the other had a very rare disease that most people have never even heard of. Each time there was an update on their blogs or Facebook pages, I would eagerly read hoping for good news, but most of the time I would find it hard to even finish posts because my vision was so blurred with tears. I can't imagine the hurt and pain that these precious angels went through. They both fought so so hard.
The Lord had other plans for Keegan and Tripp. He took them home when they were each only 2 years old. Keegan went in December, and Tripp just last week. my heart broke for Beth when I heard the news of Keegan, and I just can't get Courtney and Tripp off my mind either.
Keegan and Tripp may have only lived on this earth for a short time, but both of these boys made a huge impact. They have changed the way I think about so many things. Not a day goes by that my heart does not hurt for Beth and Courtney. Please join me in praying for these two mothers who only have memories to hold on to when they should be holding their little boys.

It's been a cold, rainy week. I definetly have the Winter blahs. We haven't really had too much really cold weather, but I'm ready for Spring. January seems like the longest month. Dave and I were both off on Monday for MLK holiday, and even though it was a short work week, it seemed to last forever. The weekends just go by way too fast.
Here's my photo of the week. It's from a cell, so not the best quality. Hud has always been a great sleeper and will nap/sleep anywhere. He's almost too big to curl up in that recliner.

Fun Trip and Sad New

Guess who can take a 6 hour road trip and turn it into 9 hours???? We can! On Friday we headed down to Florida to visit Dave's grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We were very excited to take Hudson because this was his first trip there. The trip was a quick one, but was great non the less. We enjoyed visiting with family, and Huddy had fun out on the rope swing. I'm so glad he got to enjoy this simple pleasure. I have many fond memories of my cousins and I in my grandparents' backyard on our rope swing. We enjoyed that thing for years. We made a few stops on the way home, and even got to see one of my best friends that lives in south GA. It took forever to get home, but we were in no hurry.

Pure bliss!

In other news, my heart has been so heavy, and I have been so sad about Tripp. You may remember me posting about him in the past, and his blog button is on the side of my blog. Tripp went to be with Jesus on Saturday. As heartbreaking as it is to know how much his mom misses him, It's good to know that he is no longer in pain. He is one special little boy. No human should ever have to endure what this little angel went through in his two short years. He has touched so many hearts and lives. If you haven't ever read his story, you should...it will put a lot into perspective, and make you thank the Lord for the "problems" you have. Click here to read more about Tripp.

Here's this week's photo of the week. I love how Hudson has his hand on his great grandpa's shoulder. He was amazed by Baby Mylo.

So we're a week into 2012, and time does not seem to be slowing for anyone. We rang in the new year at home in our pj's. It was the first day Hudson felt good in a week. After two trips to the doctor, countless doses of Tylenol, high fevers that got over 104, and a week in the house, we were thrilled that this boy was starting to feel better. He had "something viral", and there was nothing we could do except to wait it out. He decided on New Years Eve that he really was hungry (he hadn't eaten much of anything in 4 days), and ate enough food to feed a few grown men. I was glad he had his appetite and his spirit back. We went in the back yard and did a few sparklers, and watched the ball drop in our den. Fun times!
I started back to work this past week, and the new year is under way. We are excited to see what 2012 brings! I've seen lots of people do photo challenges on their blogs, and have always thought it would be a fun way to share memories. I do not think that I would do well at the "photo a day" challenge because I do not blog daily, but I do think that I could do a "photo of the week".

Soooo, here goes...here's my first photo of the week for 2012.... I just love this picture of Hud and Claire. They love each other so much and missed each other over Christmas break due to vacations, family time, and sickness. Here they are on New Years Day. I wish I knew what they were talking about.
