31/52

31/52...
I can't say enough how proud of these two I am this week.  They have had some MAJOR changes and they have handled it so well.  They moved up to an older kid Sunday School class at church, and started preschool.  Even though they were a little sad on their first day, they both had a much better day on the second day.  This morning, Hudson was a little apprehensive about going into his new class for the second Sunday.  I was so encouraged by him, as he handled it so well, never got really upset, and ended up being fine and having fun.  I'm so thankful that he's so adaptable, and I know that we are very blessed to have such wonderful people taking care of him.  Most of all though, I'm extremely thankful that these two have each other.

Big Week

It's been a BIG week around our house.  Hudson started school for the very first time ever, and I went back to work after being off all summer.  Of course every teacher knows that we have to hit the ground running during pre-planning.  To say that I was exhausted last night after a 12 hour work day (due to Open House) would be an understatement.  My new little darlings start on Monday, and I'm super excited to get to know each one and watch them grow and learn this year.
We have been so blessed that my mom has been able to watch Hudson and Claire since they were both born (2 months a part).  I could have never picked a better situation for him to be in.  We knew that starting preschool would be a major transition, but we were very excited for him to have the opportunity.  He's only going two mornings a week, and his teacher is God sent.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her and the administration at his preschool.  Here are some pictures from the first day.  I was so thankful that I didn't go back to work until the day after he started school.  It was great to be able to take him and go and pick him up.  1:00 couldn't come fast enough that day.
I can't believe that my baby is going to 3-K!!!
Here's Claire and Huddy when we got to school.  They were so excited!
I love these pictures of them walking in and leading the way to their classroom.
 Their pathway to success....

Hudson got upset when I left him on the first day, and had a hard time that day, but his second day was much better, and he has only positive things to say about school.  I am so pleased with his school, his class, and his teacher.  I can't wait to see what's in store for him this year.

This is a totally blurry picture, but do you see a slight resemblance?
My hubby could be brothers with Michael Phelps.  HA!

Summer 2012...in the books (warning..photo overload)

It's that time of year again...time to say goodbye to summer.  It flies by way too fast for my liking, but I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend two months with Hudson.  I can honestly say that we made the most of this summer.  H is at such a great age where he's more independent and can do so much.  We had such a good time and did fun stuff every day.  We didn't travel as much as we usually do, but the trips that we did take were fun and special.  I'm not excited that summer is over, but I am ready for us to get back into our routines.  H is starting pre-school this year, so I'm eager to see what fun experiences that brings for him.

It sure has been a great one.  We finally finished H's big boy room after a year in the works, and I now have a little fish.  H has learned to jump in, and swim underwater without his floaties this year.  I never would have guessed that he would be swimming as well as he is.
Tomorrow is promotion Sunday at our church, and Dave and I are going to be teaching Hudson's class.  Monday is Open House for Huddy, and Tuesday is his first day.  I go back to work on Wednesday.  I'm sure you will soon see lots of photos documenting these exciting things that are in store.

A Day in the Country and 29/52...a little late

My computer has been sick for the past week, but I think it's finally back up and running well again.  This past weekend Hudson and I went with our friends Erin and Ila Jane to Erin's hometown (about an hour away) to visit her family.  First we went to her grandparents' house in the country.  Hud and Ila had so much fun.
The first thing that they did was eat some very fresh and yummy watermelon grown not too far from where they are standing.

This watermelon was orange, and very tasty.
  YUM!!!  Our favorite summer treat!!!

After their snack, these two kiddos got to take a fun tractor ride. How fun for a kid!!!

When they got back, and it was time to pull the tractor into the yard, Hudson told me he was "sad that it was time to put the tractor away".

Next, we all hopped into the truck to take a ride out to see the cows.
They were cooling off in the shade.
"Hey COW!"

This little boy enjoyed himself, and I did too.  Thanks, Erin and Ila for inviting us to have a great day with y'all.  Your grandparents are so precious and were so sweet.  We had such a fun time.

29/52...We brought home A LOT of peas.  Hudson, Dave, and I shelled peas for 3 hours on Saturday night and had such a good time doing it together.  Here's our fresh produce....
A baby cow had just been born the morning we were there.  Hudson was lucky enough to be able to name the cow...his name..."Woody".  Such a cute baby with the same marks as his mama.
I love this...Hudson getting weighed on the produce scale.
We are still enjoying our tasty watermelon.  I think that we are on our 3rd one since the weekend.  Hudson and I could eat a whole one by ourselves.
