Challenge

I enjoy blogging and reading other blogs.  Since it's summer time, and I have a little more time to blog, I'm going to participate in Jenna' Blog Challenge.  I'm excited about finding some new blogs to follow.
Since I'm actually a day late, I'll cover topics from day 1 and day 2 in this post.

If you are new to my blog, then welcome!  My name is Lisa, and I'm a kindergarten teacher in Georgia.  I love my job, because I get to witness awesome kids grow and learn so much during the most important school year of their career.  This coming school year will be my 10th year teaching.  I'm married to Dave and we will be celebrating 7 years of marriage in a few weeks.

We have an amazing son named Hudson who is almost 3, and is ALL BOY.  He loves his monster trucks, playing any kind of ball, and swimming.

I started blogging in 2009 not long after Hudson was born.  I originally started the blog to keep our friends and family updated with Hudson's medical updates.  Since he was born with one kidney and hydronephrosis with a mega ureter, we had lots of appointments during his first year.  You can read more about that here.  The blog was an easy way to keep all of our prayer warriors up do date with info when Hud had his big surgery right after he turned 1, and you can see those posts starting here.  My little boy is a champ!

Since I was never really good at recording information and milestones in the baby book, this blog has also been a journal to record all sorts of milestones and other things that I just want to remember.  I can put pictures and document things permanently that I might otherwise forget here on the blog.  I love going back and reading things that I wrote about in the past, and seeing how much my buddy has grown through the pictures.  I hope that one day Hudson will enjoy reading this blog.  I hope that he won't be too embarrassed.  I think about how neat it would be if my grandma, or great grandma had been able to keep a blog, and how it would be so cool to read what they would have written.

Even though I don't do it nearly enough, I like to use my blog to advocate for children overseas who are hoping to find forever homes.  There are many beautiful children here that need families.

Ok, so I think that just about covers it.  Now you know me and you know why I blog.  Cant wait to read more of your blogs!

  1. Stopping by from Jenna's Challenge! Love finding other teachers! I understand what it's like to feel like you can't blog during the year. This past year was my first year in first grade, and I ended up not blogging all together. I am hoping this next year I will be a little better at it!

  3. Stopping by from the commenting challenge. Isn't teaching kindergarten so much fun? I am doing preschool now, but I did my student teaching in kindergarten and loved it. So exhausting, but it was incredible to see the growth :)

  4. Over from Jenna's Journey. Look forward to learning more about you. My oldest just finished his first year of kindergarden, and we were so blessed by his teacher. He had an amazing year, even with all the days he missed because of his medical issues
